The high-flying American technological corporation was founded as a computer sales organization in the year 1976 by three friends namely Ronald Wayne, Steve Jobs, and Steve Wozniak. Barely a year later, Apple Computer, Inc. was incorporated, before it was renamed several years in 2007 to Apple Inc. The renaming name implied its shift of focus and operational realignment to include general consumer electronics rather than just computers. Chen (2015) lauds the company as the largest information technology corporation across the globe with regards to its revenue and total assets, and still comes second worldwide among the phone manufacturers after Samsung. Apple’s iTunes Store is considered the top universal music retailer. Apart from a large pool of products, the company has clientele from all walks of life whose purchase compounds to the company’s mega value of 178.1 billion dollars last year. Apples top position is a combined product or resilience, strategic operations, and innovativeness. Even then, the journey has not been a walk in the park as the company’s operations have been largely criticized over the years especially concerning its labor practices and environmental practices.
