Introduction
In light of the unremittingly advancement and change in the business landscape, organizations and enterprises have to adopt the adjustments or face the repercussions. Making such pivotal changes is what Levin (2012) refer to as business transformation. More often than not, the need for business transformation is elicited by the shift in the external paradigms of the business environment. Consequently, the particular microcosms of business must be aligned with the prevailing trends. Central to the concept of business transformation is information and change management. The relationship between the two aspects of business transformation is that the received information at any time will determine whether an operational change is necessary. Precisely, Bradford (2010) states that organizational change management defines a model for managing the impacts of transitions in the business structure, culture and business processes within a business premise. Worth noting here is the fact that organizational change management is mostly concerned with people or the human resource. On the other hand, corporate information management deals with the reception of the information, its storage, and distribution, and its eventual disposition (Henderson, 2014). It the follows that information management is a cycle of activities within the organization that ensures the timely requisition of the information, its processing, and disposition. However, it is the nature and speed of changes in the business environment that has elicited the need for unending research works and their publications. Scholl (2015), notes that there exist innumerable published research works on information and change management in an organization. Yet the trend is projected to continue as long as the business surrounding keeps changing. Thus, the following discussion presents an exhaustive critical review of some of the literature in which the research works have been published. In doing so, it will examine their relevance, the gaps they leave, their strengths and weaknesses as well as offer insight for the future researchers.
