Phillis Wheatley was a true heroine of all times, to have made such remarkable achievements through publishing a book on colonial Africans, during such times when slaves were treated with great inhumanity. Being a slave, Phillis maintained a high degree of cautiousness and was keen to cross any line of her owners (Jamison 45). She was, however, able to put her point across to the intended group. Her work was a true showcase of the inward ability of black Americans.
