“Some Like it Hot” exposes the manner in which Americans embraced their sexuality in the year 1959. Lesbianism and homosexuality are some of the sexual relationships which one can easily see when watching the comedy. Lemmons and Curtis cross-dress generating innuendo around castration. Jerry and Joe, on the other side, become Daphne and Josephine respectively and engage in sexual relationships. Lesbianism surfaces when Sugar kisses Joe. In this scene, Joe tells Sugar that no guy is worth it. In another scene, millionaire Osgood Fielding issues a marriage proposal to Jerry, disguised as Daphne. Joe ends up asking “why would a guy want to marry a guy?”
