Introduction
Artificial intelligence (AI) is the art of coming up with machines that perform functions which require intelligence when people perform them (Russell, Norvig, and Intelligence 1995). The Dartmouth College in where the first research on AI was conducted in the year 1956. At this research center, the students and the professors created programs that the press would, later on, refer as “astonishing” (Russell et al. 1995). At this moment, computers had begun to win games of Chess, solve algebra, and speak English. The founders of AI grew optimistic about the future and believed that the machines would be capable of doing work which man could do. Over the years, thousands of scholars have taken various steps to improve on AI and see to it that machines perform tasks with minimal supervision. Production in firms has ever since gone up with the introduction of these machines in the process. However, with their introduction in processing companies, these machines have caused many people to lose their jobs, and are still causing the loss of more jobs as per Frey and Osborne (2017). As a result of the effects of AI on the IT industry, this paper aims to research on the top trends in the industry, the widespread use of Artificial Intelligence and its effects on the sector.
