Racism is a prevalent issue in the society today and in the past. The issue shall however become worse if the members of the society continue to discriminate people against the color of their skills, culture, and their ethnic backgrounds. Racism is a form of injustice and negativity towards the discriminated group of people. Many studies have been taken concerning the impact of racial segregation on societies and individuals. For instance, the black society have been battling against racial segregation since the times of Martin Luther King Jr. Despite the fact that Martin Luther King Jr. strived to reduce the gravity of racial discrimination and advocated for equality between the whites and the blacks, he died before his dream came true (Fischler p.74-75). His wife Coretta Scott King continued to advocate for equality among American people. She shared her ideas against racism and encouraged people to take a step against the issue. Thus keeping quiet on racial segregation shall yield the development of the issue and the issue will never find solution.
Although racism exists in America today, not all whites have the same opinion and practices on racism. Thus some white Americans are racist hence discriminate against the people of color. Some whites do not practice racism instead promote equality in workplaces and health facilities. This study shows the difference of thoughts of the Caucasians regarding racial discrimination and their contribution towards the resolution of the issue in America (Carter & Mary p.269). The study elaborates how a white handles the interaction with people of color, how a black interacts with another black and how a black American interacts with people from other nationalities.
