The articles Truth About China's Missing Daughters and China's Hidden Children by Kathryn Joyce Professor and Kay Ann Johnson respectively, aim to shed light on the truth behind China's adopted babies. These two articles particularly focus on the gender of the adopted babies, with both answering the gender question behind the high numbers of female children being adopted by Americans. The articles complement each other in the argument of the truth behind Chinese parents giving up their girl children. They both portray the government as the villain in the forceful giving up of female children for adoption. Contrary to what the Chinese government made adoption parents believe, these articles contend that the Chinese government forced parents to give up their female children. These articles raise and answer the gender questions surrounding the adoption of female children.

The articles The Chinese Adoption Effect and For Adoptive Parents, Questions Without Answers by Diane Clehane and John Leland attempt respectively, relate the experiences of the Adoptive parents and the children alike. Based on these articles it’s evident that most of these parents are unaware of the real reasons behind Chinese parents giving up their children. Worse still, they come face to face with the realization that some of the female children may have been stolen. These two articles agree on the fact that many adoptive parents desire for their adopted children to get to know their real parents. However, some are faced with the challenge of being left in the dark concerning the backgrounds of their adopted children.
